Grid Computing

To obtain a Grid certificate you will need to visit the NGS site. Follow the instructions - when you go to the CA web interface, select "Request a Certificate" from the horizontal menu at the top of the screen, and then select "User Certificate". Enter your details, choose "Glasgow Compserv" as your Registration Authority and create a PIN, then submit the request. You will receive an email confirming this.

Following this, you will need to identify yourself (photographic ID and PIN required) to John Watt (Room 246d, email J.Watt@compserv.gla.ac.uk). You will then receive another email containing a link which you must click on in the same browser you used to apply for the certificate; this will bring the public and private halves of the certificate together and complete activation. It is also important to back up this certificate - John Watt can give you information on how to do this.
