Printing From Windows

Group printers are available from ppes17, departmental printers are available from phys3mm which is maintained by the Departmental Windows team.

Installing a New Printer

For desktop machines printers are now automatically installed, no additional action is required.

Laptops

Connect to ppes17 (or phys3mm for a departmental printer). This can be achieved either by navigating to it or by clicking on Start->Run and then typing \\ppewin.

Double click on the printer you wish to install.

When connecting to ppewin laptop users will be asked for a username/password. The username used should be of the form guphysics\username where the password is the user's guphysics password.

Note: the printers on ppes17 can only be accessed from a laptop via a wired connection. A wireless connection will not work.
